Career Interests: Internal Medicine, Behavioral HealthWhy OhioHealth: OhioHealth Doctors stood out to me because of the incredibly friendly and welcoming environment. It has always been important to me to be somewhere that not only has an excellent residency program, but also cares for us as people. That is OhioHealth. There is also a vast set of rotations to choose from between the sites at OhioHealth and the added benefit of a large cohort of residents to get to know!

Career Interests: Emergency Medicine, Critical Care and Internal MedicineWhy OhioHealth: I chose OhioHealth, because I loved the tight-knit community and the strong emphasis on teaching that I experienced during my OhioHealth APPE rotations. I selected Doctors Hospital specifically, because I knew that the pharmacists and leadership would go out of their way to help me achieve my career goals and offer me a strong support system. I am very excited to join the pharmacy team at Doctors Hospital and work with a supportive, conscientious and collaborative pharmacy staff. I trust that Doctors Hospital will develop me into a strong clinical pharmacist.
Hobbies: Hanging out with my dog and cat, working out, trying out new restaurants and coffee shops, going to OSU football games, traveling

Every interaction I had with the OhioHealth pharmacy team I felt their passion and support in continuing to advance the future of pharmacy. Grant Medical Center specifically caught my interest because of their ability to make me feel like one of the team even from the outside, they provide a positive and empowering learning environment to pursue a PGY1 at.

I was drawn to Grant Medical Center due to it being a level 1 trauma center and the patient population it serves.

I wanted to be a resident at a site that highly values interprofessional collaboration and partakes in innovative practices to improve patient care. I chose Mansfield based on the diversity of patient cases seen due to its unique location. Furthermore, throughout the interview, the preceptors showed they really care about the overall growth and wellbeing of residents.

Marion General Hospital creates an environment where close relationships can be formed, and unique opportunities are present for learners. The pharmacy department is dedicated to their staff members, students, and patients, and I believe this support is crucial in developing successful residents and pharmacists.

I chose OhioHealth based on the welcoming staff, learning environment and the overall positive experiences I have encountered. As for my site specifically, OhioHealth Marion General Hospital, I have gotten to know the staff over the years and have appreciated their guidance and expertise. I am thrilled to join the team as a resident!

RMH provides me with the opportunity to gain clinical knowledge and to work at the top of my license as a pharmacy resident. I was really drawn to their program based on the wide variety of rotations offered throughout the year. I wanted a residency program that felt like home and RMH provided just that.

Specifically, during my time as an intern at RMH, I have had many positive opportunities and experiences. For residency I wanted a program that would help to push me to grow while also supporting me along the way. After my experiences as an intern and interactions with past residents and the many preceptors from RMH, I am confident that I will have the opportunity and support to challenge myself to grow into a well-rounded and confident clinical pharmacist.

The biggest reason is the feeling of home I got from my interview experience with the team at Grant Medical Center. Through my PGY1, the preceptors I had were exceptional and helped my knowledge base grow immensely. Completing residency at GMC has allowed me to care for a wide variety of patients with a multitude of disease states. Moving to PGY2, there is truly no better place for EM than Grant Medical Center!

My time at RMH as a PGY1 allowed me to connect with many of the pharmacists on our team and those relationships made staying for my PGY2 in Oncology an easy decision. I have felt constantly supported and valued by residency leadership, preceptors, and other pharmacy staff over the last year. I am excited to continue working with the RMH pharmacy team this year!

Pain and Palliative Care Residency

Career Interests: Palliative care, hospice, and pain managementWhy OhioHealth: Riverside is unique in the fact that it is able to offer a robust selection for PGY1 resident rotation without ever leaving the campus. As a PGY1 I had the opportunity to complete a 6-month longitudinal rotation with the outpatient hospice team as well as a month-long rotation with the inpatient palliative care team. It was the experiences I obtained during these rotations as well as previous personal encounters with palliative and hospice care that led me to pursue a PGY2 in pain management and palliative care. I feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to work in a field that has the capability of making drastic improvements in patient's lives and leverages the many advantages of an interdisciplinary team.
